Marrow of Theology

Master/Diploma of Theological Studies (M.T.S./D.T.S.)

The Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.) or Diploma of Theological Studies (D.T.S.) serves as a terminal program for laymen, non-vocational elders, or for pastors who want to expand their education. It may also function as the first stage of the Bachelor of Divinity (B.Div.) or Master of Divinity (M.Div.) programs for men who aspire to vocational ministry. Note that the M.T.S. requires a previously earned baccalaureate degree. After completing the M.T.S. or D.T.S. program, the student may request to have his credits applied to the divinity program should he and his pastor(s) determine he has the qualifications to pursue an extended theological education.

Although each topic is condensed, it is presented at a seminary level and directed to men who are currently engaged in or preparing for the ministry. Those who complete the twelve-unit curriculum, which is designed to be offered over a three-year period, will receive a Certificate of Theological Studies (C.T.S.) from RBS.
